8-cyl. 2 S.C.S.A. (10½" x 13½") Crossley HGN8 type turbocharged engine by Crossley Bros.Ltd., Manchester, geared to a fixed pitch propeller. (per original design spec - 1200bhp. @ 420 revs. 16.5 tons bollard pull. 11¾ Kts) 1,350bhp. 12 kts. 21 tons bollard pull.
28.8.1964: Launched by W. J. Yarwood & Sons Ltd., Northwich (Yard No. 945) for the Alexandra Towing Company Ltd.
5.12.1964: Completed.
5.1989: Offered for sale (£35,000) through S. C. Chambers & Company Ltd, (Brokers).
7.1989: Sold (£20,000) to National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside, Liverpool, on condition that the name and Alexandra Towing livery to be retained. She is currently based at the Merseyside Maritime Museum,Canning Dock, where she is maintained in running order by the Wincham Preservation Society.
