Always said she had plenty of pulling power!!!!

And just before the 'Perfect Storm' in the North Sea whilst towing the unfinished liner from Barrow to Newcastle.

9-cyl. 4 S.C.S.A. (12½" x 14½") Ruston 9ATCM type engine by English Electric Diesels Ltd.,Ruston Engine Division, Lincoln, geared to a fixed pitch propeller operating within a Kort steerable nozzle. 2,190bhp. 13¼ kts. 40 tons bollard pull.
2.11.1971: Launched by Richard Dunston (Hessle) Ltd., Hessle (Yard No. S.881) for the Alexandra Towing Company Ltd.
2.1972: Completed (£216,000).
1989-1992: Alexandra Towing Company (Felixstowe) Ltd., managers.
1.1.1996: Owners restyled as Howard Smith Towage Ltd.
1999: Sold to Togo Oil and Marine (T.O.M.) Sarl, Lome, Togo and renamed DEFIANT.
11.2010: Still in service.
