HMS Macbeth
Auxiliary Minesweeper - Ad No 169, H.869
Launched by Mackie & Thomson Govan, Yard No 324, on 7/2/1906 as a Steam Trawler for Hellyers Steam Fishing Co Ltd, Hull. Sunk 7/12/1930 near the Île de Houat.
148.6 ft (BP) x 23 ft
Engines by W.V.V. Lidgerwood, Glasgow
Single screw, steam T3cy, 75nhp
1 x 12pdr and 1 x 3pdr

Completed in March 1906
October 1914 requisitioned by the Admiralty for use as a Minesweeper
1919 Returned
1919 sold to G.Molfino & Co and renamed IDEALE
1928 sold to Società Ricuperi Marittimi Sorima, Genoa and was converted into a well equipped modern Salvage Vessel and renamed ARTIGLIO
7/12/1930 sank while trying to level the wreck of the American Munitions ship SS Florence H near the Île de Houat. She was using explosives and unexpectedly set off the ships cargo and was caught in the blast

She was replaced by another converted trawler named Artiglio which has caused me some confusion with ID. The second Artiglio was the one involved in the recovery of Gold from the Egypt
I believe that the image below is the ex Macbeth
